Speech Therapy

Speech therapy evaluates and implements strategies to improve speech, language, cognitive issues, and swallowing difficulties such as dysphagia. These therapies are used at our nursing home, Evangeline Oaks Guest House Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Services (EOGH-Rehab).

Our Speech Language Pathologist will develop an individualized, person-centered plan of care designed to increase the individual’s ability to communicate as well as to improve any identified swallowing problems and work to wean from tube feeding.

A speech therapy treatment may include:

  • Cognition training.
  • Expressive receptive language.
  • Swallowing disorders (dysphagia).
  • Voice therapy.
  • Aural rehabilitation (hearing loss).
  • Augmentative communication.
